Keynote Speaker: Marion Russell, OTD, MOTR/L, SCFES

Title: A Knock at the Door: Narrating Long-Covid Life in a Post-Pandemic Landscape

Dr. Marion Russell is a professor of occupational therapy who became ill in the fall of 2020 with a serious case of Covid-19, resulting in post-acute SARS-Cov2 (Long Covid). This journey has taken her through a 46-day in-home isolation, several ER visits, two hospital admissions, and a now nearly 2-year period of recovery and rehabilitation. In this keynote address, she invites us to hear about the ways this experience continues to inform her journey on both sides of the occupational therapy clipboard. As she shares her story, she will explore some tools and insights to help occupational therapists notice and respond to the complexity this chronic condition and its “opportunities” represent.
